Jacob A. Hartley, DMD

Dr. Hartley

Meet Dr. Hartley

I am excited about being able to offer my skills to help treat chronic headaches and migraines. I am challenged and encouraged every day by my patients and their life experiences, and hope that I in turn may have a positive effect on the lives of my patients.

It warms my heart to cross paths with patients when out in the community and to have conversations that are real and not just one of an exchange of goods and services.  To know that my patients at are not just statistics or a means to pay the bills, but members of my community, and to know that I am not just a technician, but a trusted friend who happens to have been trained to provide care.

This systematic approach to treating the entire dental complex and associated nervous system and musculature. I now have the capabilities to help our patients heal from past trauma and not just reduce symptoms. Many of our patients, myself included, have suffered from chronic headaches and migraines for years with no true relief. With our therapy, our patients can now be returned to a proper muscle/tooth/TMJ/nerve relationship enjoying more sleep, fewer headaches and migraines, and an improved quality of life.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology – University of North Carolina at Wilmington
  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry
  • General Practice Residency – Lehigh Valley Dental Network

Since completing my formal education, I have taken extensive post-graduate courses in ClearCorrect™, and Six Month Smiles® orthodontics, and have studied at the prestigious Dawson Academy. I am an active member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association.

Outside the Office

Originally from Los Gatos, California, I currently reside in Williamsburg with my wife, Ashley, five children, and cat named Moses.

When not at work, I can usually be found cheering on my kids at their various dance, gymnastics, soccer, or baseball events, or having NERF wars with my kids.  As a family, we spend a lot of time playing board games and riding bikes.

I am very involved in my local church, Living Proof Baptist Church, and am a Sunday school teacher. It is important to be active in my community to remember who I am and who I am not. It is also important to help mold and shape those around me. As a society and with current technology, we have become very good at separating ourselves from those around us. Being active in the community allows me to be of assistance to others and realize my short comings and need for assistance from others.
